A member of our COMPLAINT SINGAPORE Facebook Group had reported a fraudster seller spotted in Lazada Singapore eCommerce platform.
According to the member, the said seller by the name – “electronicssingapore37” posted many ads on various large branded Smart TVs at very unbelievable prices, such as a 55″ UHD Samsung Smart Curved TV at S$350 only, even with free delivery!
A quick check online for a similar model quoted at least for S$1000 and more..
Suspecting something wrong, the member private message the said seller to query about the said TV, but was instructed to provide a mobile number, which they will contact the member at a late time.
After about a day, the said seller used a Malaysia-registered phone number: +6017 3397479 and WhatsApp the member, asking for details for the delivery and requested direct payment to them.
When the member ask for their office or showroom to view the items before deciding to buy, the said seller then rejected the request and claimed they only provide delivery after payment is received..
The said dubious posted several ads on Lazada Singapore offering unbelievable prices for branded smart TVs and offering free delivery services..
The member then ignored the seller, despite their several attempts to request payments, and lodged a complaint to Lazada Singapore about the suspected fraud seller immediately..
Upon a brief check on Lazada.sg this morning, both the mentioned seller account and all previously published ads are completely removed.. Kudos to Lazada Singapore!
We strongly advise everyone to be wary of any online ads with unbelievable or ridiculous prices.
More often than not, such “Out-of-this-World” deals or offers are just simply too good to be true..
Do conduct a simple “interview” with the seller if you have reasons to suspect that the seller is kind of dubious in its dealing, and do report them to the platform owner if you have any concrete evidence etc.
Always be careful when buying or dealing any transactions online, local or overseas !!
